21 degrees of bike riding
It is 21 C outside, very little wind, very sunny and I went for one of the sweetest waterfront rides I've done in a while. Everything felt faster, smelled fresher, looked cleaner. All-Star and I did a hot lap in Bastion Square, coffee on the sidewalk at Il Torrefazione, watching the new flux of tourists. I was wearing shorts and a short-sleeve jersey. No gloves, no knee/arm warmers, no booties, no sniveling nose, no bitten ears. A brand new tire on the front. I even re-wrapped the upper loops of my bar tape where small gaps had formed. Put end caps in the bars. Tires at 100psi. Next stop: shaved legs and the amateur circuit in Nice.
A man may be very industrious, and yet not spend his time well. There is no more fatal blunderer than he who consumes the greater part of life getting his living.—Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
