Loser Goes First by Dan Kennedy
A review in tabs--excerpts I found noteworthy in this short autobiography by a young American guy who wanted fame in music but settled for a string of jobs like packing CDs, slinging coffee at the first Starbucks and writing ad copy.
p.66 - This is how dreams happen. People ask you how you plan to get by without a job and you look out to the horizon and kind of get serious and a little bit cocky and you say something like, 'I really don't know. But I'm gonna make it happen, man.'
p.218 - The only way to figure out what you naturally do, and are naturally good at, is to take some time to do nothing and just see what happens.
p.220 - Maybe the only reason we don't do half of the things we try to do in life is because we just never get around to doing them. No, like, big dramatic or mystical reason. Just never start or try and so we never finish. SO, TRY TO START.
