Joint concept, design and coding. Tasked with building the Emily Carr Graduation website in one week, designer Alex Buss and I set a number of goals, chiefly to make it as easy as possible for visitors to view work, to download it and to redistribute it online. We eliminated superfluous pop-ups and click-throughs found
in other grad websites, enlarged the images and wrote clean, standards-based code. Within the first week the site received over 1,000 unique visitors per day and was the number one result when Googling “grad 2009.” We were responsible for managing all images and content for nearly 300 graduates, transferring between MySQL databases, building templates in Movable Type and coding in XHTML, Javascript and CSS.
