The requirement was to make a piece with two functions. Fletcher and co. made a coffee table \/ hall stand thing out bamboo ply. I think the whole 2-in-1 premise is too gimmicky, but on its own as a table this piece works.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/zachary_fluker\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/fluker_zachary01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/zachary_fluker\/\">Zachary Fluker, Hyme<\/a><br \/>\nBeautiful.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/daniel_hobson\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/hobson_daniel01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/daniel_hobson\/\">Daniel Hobson, Open Baffle Adapting<\/a><br \/>\nAesthetically it leaves something to be desired, but I like the audiophile aspect. It seems to me this would have already been done, but what do I know. It&#8217;s all a psychosomatic ballet between the tech specs and those guys ears, anyway.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/alexandra_kenyon\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/kenyon_alexandra01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/alexandra_kenyon\/\">Alexandra Kenyon, Precious Things: Heirloom<\/a><br \/>\nHard to say execution-wise, but the concept (dishes based on family nose profiles) is cute and relates two seemingly unrelated forms.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/sandy_lam\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/lam_sandy01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/industrial_design\/sandy_lam\/\">Sandy Lam, Spaceless<\/a><br \/>\nLooks lovely, and at the least this is the best example of how to photodoc and summarize your project in one image, something a lot of the projects could take a cue from.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/dirga_agoes\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/agoes_dirga01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/dirga_agoes\/\">Dirga Agoes, Duet: Food Pairings with Wine<\/a><br \/>\nI&#8217;d say most of the pieces I like from the Grads are pieces I&#8217;d actually use, and if there was actually a link to Agoes&#8217; wine and food advice site, I&#8217;d actually use it despite the ho-hum design.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/carol_chu\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/chu_carol01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/carol_chu\/\">Carol Chu, Stanley Park Ecology Society: Family Explorer&#8217;s Kit<\/a><br \/>\nI could see this working as a tourist rental kit. I appreciate people who tackle a local, family based project \/ problem.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/jennifer_ewing\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/ewing_jennifer01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/jennifer_ewing\/\">Jennifer Ewing, Digital Wood Type Poster: Phenomenal Woman<\/a><br \/>\nPerty.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/melanie_haines\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/haines_melanie01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/melanie_haines\/\">Melanie Haines, Backyard Biophilia<\/a><br \/>\nNice title, seems useful and something that would entertain and inform me.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/beau_house\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/house_beau01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/beau_house\/\">Beau House, Michel Tournier Series<\/a><br \/>\nMore perty posters.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/sung_lee\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/lee_sung01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/sung_lee\/\">Sung Lee, Greater Vancouver Zoo Brand Guide<\/a><br \/>\nLooks like a solid, classic CommD identity challenge to be proud of.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/grace_leung\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/leung_grace01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/grace_leung\/\">Grace Leung, Museum of the Last Banana<\/a><br \/>\nHeh, but also an interesting viewpoint to take on climate change.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/russel_pistun\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/pistun_russel01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/russel_pistun\/\">Russel Pistun, Princesa Cashews Brand &#038; Package<\/a><br \/>\nI followed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/13886666@N06\/\">Pistun&#8217;s process on Flickr<\/a> as he was one of the students who was selected for the second phase of the Philippines internship (I was one of the students sent in the first round). Another example of a well-done, classic CommD assignment, but actually applied and, as far as I know, actually used.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/aviva_rotstein\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/rotstein_aviva01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/aviva_rotstein\/\">Aviva Rotstein, Mr. Edward P. Blah goes to Superspy School for Grumpy Groan-Ups<\/a><br \/>\nWould like to see inside this book \/ box because I&#8217;m attracted to the reverse Harry Potter idea about a school where kids teach grumpy adults to find their hidden powers.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/alan_woo\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffwerner.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/woo_alan01s.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/grad2008.eciad.ca\/communication_design\/alan_woo\/\">Alan Woo, Super Ordinary<\/a><br \/>\nOne of the few Grads I know personally, and another&#8217;s whose process was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/alanwoo\/tags\/grad\/\">joy to follow on Flickr<\/a>.<br \/>\nUnfortunately I&#8217;m not in Vancouver to see the grad show in person.
