Text to Speech Converter

AT&T Labs has a demo online that converts text into speech. Nothing new in that – we’ve got cute little iMacs at work that do that – but not as fluently, or in so many languages, even dialects (US/UK English).

It’s interesting to play with spacing and the spelling of words to make the text-speech converter sound different. I used this website a couple of years ago to make a couple of radio spots for soundcheck. I had to spell things like C F UUUU V ONE OH TOOOO EFFFF EMMM to make it sound decent.
